Teaching
TEACHING PHILOSOPHY, COURSE DEVELOPED, EXPERIENCE AND INTEREST TEACHING PHILOSOPHY To synthesize my understanding, experience, and professional skills into strategies that will help the students obtain and retain knowledge and skills
To make students think—to break through the surface tension of introductory material and instill in each student the desire to dive deeper into the pool of knowledge
To provide the students with professional applications of new material, an interactive environment, incorporating examples of active research in homework and assessments,
teaching how to learn—and how to teach by encouraging for presentations and homework problem walk‐throughs and
instilling a sense of community among the students. COURSE DEVELOPMENT Undergraduate Course CH 427 (B.Tech.(CST),VII Sem): Medicinal Chemistry. Postgraduate Course CH 641 (M.Sc.elective): Modern Techniques and Scope of Chemical Biology
CH 521 (M. Sc. Core): Bio-organic Chemistry CH 629 (Ph.D. Elective): Advances in Bio-Organic Chemistry. EN 603 (Ph.D. Elective): Environmental Chemical Biology NPTEL (Single coordinator) Web based scheme of MHRD, Government of India
Bio-organic Chemistry Bio-Organic Chemistry of Natural Enediyne Anticancer Antibiotics. In India, in true sense, no institute is offering any course on Bio-Organic Chemistry that may be because of the broad subject area and the lack of any suitable text books. I am the first in India designed, completed and uploaded this course on the web under NPTEL Scheme. I have constructed this graduate-/postgraduate level course from thousands of papers in the primary chemical and biological/biomedical literature.
Both the NPTEL courses emphasize from the Basics to the Current Research Trends in the respective field.
In a truly interdisciplinary way these Courses will unite the central questions of Biomedical Sciences, Biosciences, Biochemistry, Medicinal Chemistry, Organic Chemistry and Spectroscopy.
The course in Enediyne emphasizes on the recent clinical advancement to the application of Enediyne as clinically approved anticancer agent.
TEACHING EXPERIENCE My teaching experience started from my undergraduate studies during1993-1995 wherein I used to teach my Juniors and my Class mates.
I want to share my knowledge with my students and love the satisfaction that results from making them understand a difficult but interesting concept.
